Altran Creates Innovative Software Operation

Scotland has won an international contest as the site for an innovative software operation which could transform how companies run major projects around the world.
French company Altran is making a £2 million investment in its site near Glasgow.
The facility will be transformed into a high-tech hub or 'project factory'. The software being installed will enable companies undertaking major projects, from construction to workforce reorganisation, to avoid falling into the common traps which result in failure to meet objectives. Companies using the system will be able to check that key milestones are being met.
Companies will use the project factory on a 'pay per use' basis. This outsourcing of much of the back-office functions has the potential to save a huge amount of time. Altran expects businesses from a wide range of sectors will use the facility because of the many different types of project which could be managed at the site including human resources processes, data centre builds, technological change, management of corporate real estate portfolios and audit and compliance work.
Scotland beat off competition from other key global locations to land the project.
