Giglets Shoot to the Top of the e-Bestsellers List!

Giglets Shoot to the Top of the e-Bestsellers List!

gigletslogo2 A young and innovative graduate start- up publishing company, from Strathclyde University, called Giglets has just released three adapted and illustrated classic ebooks as part of their company launch and watched in amazement as their ebooks shot to bestsellers on Apple’s ibookstore on iTunes.

The Giglets team are over the moon at the immediate popularity of their stories and hope it continues, as they’ll be publishing two new classic illustrated ebooks every month from now on.

“The Giglets name means ‘laughing, giggling children’ in Old Scots. In early trials, both children and adults have loved Giglets ebooks, and it is those ‘young at heart’ readers, that Giglets ebooks are written for. But we really had no idea our first books would be such chart-toppers.” says Craig Johnstone.

The Giglets team is made up of four; Craig Johnstone as the Managing Director, Jacqui McGhee as Editorial Director, Tom Brodie-Browne as Multimedia Director and Karsten Karcher as Chairman.

The four come from very different backgrounds and their combined experience and strong entrepreneurial spirit makes for an interesting new company.

The new Giglets ebooks appeared on ITunes earlier this week and shortly after entered the ‘new and notable’ section in three categories.

The following day, the Giglets ebooks joined a select list of titles in the bestselling listings in those same three categories. The new Giglets ebooks reached 1st and 9th place in the bestselling Classics listings. There are also Giglets ebooks in the top 100 of both the Literature and Fiction and the Children’s listings.

“With Giglets we aim to make much-loved classic stories into accessible and entertaining ebooks for today’s readers. We’ve had a great response to the ‘Giglets’ idea but we really couldn’t have expected such a rollercoaster-ride reaction to our product launch.” Craig Johnstone.

The Giglets team haven’t much time to let the good news sink in as they are already hard at work on their next titles. The new and future ebooks will also be adapted from classic literature and illustrated to add to their appeal. The greatest challenge that the Giglets team faces is keeping up with the pace they’ve set and achieving this kind of success on a regular basis.

Giglets ebooks can be purchased through ITunes using the search word ‘Giglets’. The stories can also be bought from www.giglets.net or from www.amazon.co.uk / www.amazon.com and downloaded direct to your ebook reader.
