GlobalScot Wins an Emmy!

GlobalScot Matt Gardner, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of MSL San Francisco, has won an Emmy!
The Emmy win was for a campaign that was part of a larger initiative to communicate the impact of biotechnology to general audiences. The broader initiative integrated grassroots, community, print, online, television, and public affairs elements.
In its earliest form in 2008, the "Education and Outreach Initiative" involved direct participation by founders of the industry and gave Matt and an early set of partners a wonderful opportunity to develop their thinking with the likes of Ron Cape, Bill Rutter, Herb Boyer, and many others.
The Emmy is terrific recognition of that campaign, and in particular, it is appropriate that Matts friends at KCBS were named.
The coalition assembled to kick off the work almost three years ago was co-chaired by Steve Burrill, Corey Goodman and Brian Cunningham - all of whom remain tremendously active in this work or similar projects committed to science education and public interest in science. Their often unseen effort deserves more credit from within the innovation community and outside it.
This is certainly exciting news Matt wishes to extend his thanks to his friends in the biotech community and at CBS who made this happen.
