GlobalScots - A success at Bio 2009

BIO is the world's largest biotechnology event and took place in Atlanta, Georgia from 18 - 21 May. It attracted over 14,500 individuals from countries all over the world and Scottish Development International's Scottish Pavilion played host to over 25 Scottish companies who were promoting and exhibiting Scotland's technology and expertise in Life Sciences.

To further enhance the experience of travelling Scottish companies, Scottish Enterprise's International Networks team brought together GlobalScots with the attending Scottish companies for 1-2-1 meetings.

During BIO, 14 meetings took place between GlobalScots and Scottish companies, during which the GlobalScots were able to provide valuable advice, contacts and networking opportunities. This was followed in the evening by an informal networking drinks reception.
