GlobalScots Share Their Knowledge

Image of two men shaking hands One of the most effective ways GlobalScots can help Scottish Companies is by meeting them face to face when they travel back to Scotland. Detailed below is a couple of great examples of how GlobalScots have supported the ambitions of Scottish Companies:

Robert Sherriff, Chief Executive Officer, Item Industries Ltd, www.item.com.hk in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China, was able to give a day to Scottish companies during his recent visit to the UK.

Robert is also Non Executive Director of the Association of Sustainable & Responsible Investment in Asia (www.asria.org); Founding Founder of the Solar Circle; serves on the advisory board of Solar Nation, www.solar-nation.org; and the advisory board of Energy Access Foundation, Inc., www.energyaccessfoundation.org as as well as being the Chapter Chair of the Young President's Organisation www.ypo.org Hong Kong Chapter.

Robert spent his day meeting 6 companies, offering assistance on a variety of subjects from manufacturing products, sourcing materials, components or sub-assemblies in China. As well as giving insights into the current situation in China with regard to the downturn and assisting companies working in or interested in moving into the Renewable energy market. This was a successful visit, with the companies really benefiting from Robert's knowledge. The team would like to thank him again for taking time to speak to these companies.

Martin Oxley, will visit Scotland on 27th - 29th May to run a series of seminars and one-to-one meetings with Scottish businesses who are interested in learning about or doing business in Poland.

Martin is currently CEO of the British-Polish Chamber of Commerce (www.bpcc.org.pl) and already spends a considerable amount of time assisting companies with enquiries about working in the country. He sees great potential for future business between Scotland and Poland and is very motivated to use his new position as a GlobalScot to work more with Scottish companies specifically.

If you would like more information on upcoming visits by GlobalScots, or are a GlobalScot able to offer your time, please e-mail William McKillop at William.McKillop@scotent.co.uk.
