This year the GlobalScot team have been able to arrange some fantastic events and meetings due to a number of GlobalScots letting us know in advance of their plans to be in Scotland.

On a trip to Scotland in February, GlobalScot Robert Dewar very kindly joined us over three days of activity. He delivered two "Doing Business in the USA" seminars and met with ten companies on a one to one basis providing advice and support with existing or planned operations in the US. Robert has been a very active GlobalScot over the years and has provided extensive support and guidance to companies. He was able to give advice on licensing, exporting, negotiating sales, regulatory environment, and business partnerships.

In late September, one of our new GlobalScots Mike Gordon, Managing Director of MG Middle East Management in Dubai, made a very active start to his role as a GlobalScot on a visit to Scotland. Mike met with 4 companies interested in doing business in the Middle East for in-depth one to one sessions.

Finally, in October, GlobalScot Steven Ho, President & CEO of MacGregor Education Services in Hong Kong came along to talk to staff at Scottish Development International in Glasgow during a trip to Scotland. He covered two topics during his staff briefing - "The Power of China" and "Freight," before meeting with Scottish organisations for one to one advice sessions.

A number of GlobalScots have already alerted us to the fact that they are visiting Scotland over the festive period this year and are eager to engage with companies during their trip. We are currently planning activity around these GlobalScots, with possibilities of one to one meetings with Scottish companies and a wider festive networking session emerging. Further details will be made available when plans are finalised.
