Scottish Development International – Head of Greater China

Scottish Development International is currently recruiting for the post of Head of Greater China. Based in either Beijing or Shanghai, the individual will be responsible for executing Scottish Development International’s (SDI) activities in Greater China, including managing a team of locally engaged staff in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taiwan to promote trade and investment between Greater China and Scotland, and to contribute, where appropriate, to the Scottish Government's wider aims in Greater China.
Key responsibilites of the post will be to:
• Lead and manage SDI’s Greater China staff to deliver trade and investment targets to be agreed annually with the Director Asia Pacific.
• Participate as a member of the strategic management team for Asia and globally as appropriate, and lead the Greater China Team’s relationships with SDI HQ.
• Lead on the development and implementation of an integrated sales and marketing country plan for Greater China which targets ‘high’, ‘medium’ and ‘universal’ companies consistent with industry priorities and the specific opportunities to do business with/in Scotland.
• Manage the Greater China Team’s lead/support on all existing investor accounts and for account teams established for new prospects.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key partner organisations, including the UKTI network throughout Greater China.
• Lead on the annual planning process for Greater China across all priority sectors and for the Energy sector at an Asia Pacific level.
